We were in and out of Laos in less than two weeks, but still managed to capture the beauty of this fantastic country. Entering the border from the south on the Vietnam side, we had the joy of cycling across the mountain range before getting to Attapue and then Pakse before taking on the well cycled route of highway 13 to Vientiane.
The small villages and towns in between offer lots of local culture and character, with the occasional markets selling live rats, insects, frogs and lizards.
We’d highly recommend cycling through Laos, or for that matter, a bus, motorbike or whatever gets you around. Laos is full of fun and friendly people that makes the country such a treat to visit.
