You can get whatever you want from Cambodia, be it a beach fun holiday with loads of beer and backpackers in Sihanoukville, a visit to the ‘Tomb Raider’ style temples of Angkor Wat or an insight into the horrors of the Khmer Rouge and the recent history of the local people.
We spent a total of six weeks cycling around the relatively small country. It was just too easy to get distracted with the numerous and wonderful NGO’s we met, the fantastic couch surfs we had and the different adventure and story that came from every town we visited.
We would have no hesitation in recommending Cambodia for an experience, not a holiday. If you want to go and laze on a beach, there are plenty of places in the world to do it. Cambodia is much more exciting, much richer in character and a whole new world to the modern traveller. The pictures below are just a glimpse of some of the best memories of our trip so far!
